I have a iBook G4 with an Airport Extreme card, and I can't seem to connect to our Netgear MR814v2 router. The router shows up in the airport bar and when I connect and it asks for my WEP key I type it in, but it says there was a problem connecting. So then I thought maybe I didn't type the key in correctly and so I tried it at least 10 more times. I then thought that something's maybe going on with the router, so I unplugged it, powered it up, checked signal with our PB G4 (works fine) and then tried the iBook again. Still no go.
So I checked and reinstalled the card twice as well as the antenna (and yes, it's pushed in as far as it will go) so I know there's no problem there. The thing that gets me is that I can see "NETGEAR" in the airport menu, but I can't connect to it, even with WEP disabled (router wide open to anyone). So the iBook sees the network, but it can't connect. Airport Extreme is supposed to be 802.11b and 802.11g compatible, so it shouldn't be having any problems.
I've been working on this for over two hours tonight, and this has me stumped. Any ideas?
