Airport Extreme - Not getting distance

Hi guys,

not getting a good distance with my airport extreme at either 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz. The Transmit Power is up at 100%. Maximum distance I can get is less than 5 metres. Walls aren;t thick in my house either so I really don't understand why the distance I am getting is sooo poor. Also using the new aluminium macbook.

When using 2.4Ghz try changing the channel from automatic to a different one. There may be interference from other devices that are using the same frequencies and finding a free channel could help.

Tried different channels and it has not made any difference. Can you suggest anything else?

Go into an Apple store and explain your issue. Maybe you just got a defective unit and they will swap it out for a new one. best of luck.
