Airport Extreme port forwarding not working

I created a thread a while back about this and nothing people said would work worked, but I think I've identified the problem.

I heard that you're supposed to go to Internet in Airport Utility and copy the IPv4 address into the private IP section, but Airport Utility only lets me change the last three digits of the IP address. Is this what's supposed to happen?

Help would be appreciated, and if you need more information just reply to the thread.

That is correct. For example, your AE is at 10.0.1.1 and any IP you assign will need to be in the range 10.0.1.XXX.
