AirPort Extreme Printer Sharing

So I just set up a new AirPort Extreme.
I have a Mac Pro and a windows box wired to it and a laptop.
I was able to share my HP Photosmart C3100 All-in-One Printer and print to it from any computer.
But I am unable to scan and use the memory stick reader on any.
My guess is that is by design, but I was just making sure.
Should I be able to use the scanner and stick reader?

Your guess is correct - Apple would have to write drivers to use features other than printing - they won't.
