Airport Extreme problem

I have a linksys wrt54gs router, and an airtport extreme base station.
They both work on the same network perfectly, ( one extends the range of the other).
The only problem I have is that when my wireless phone rings the airport extreme conection is lost ( as if it were interfering). Now as soon as I hang up the phone I get my signal back.
This only happens with conections to the airport extreme, not the linksys...

Is this a fairly common problem?
I have not updated the firmware on this one, it's about 8 months old.

Try changing the broadcast channel on the AirPort.

Yeah, it's not a bad idea, i'll try it, although I did change the channel on the phone a few times, with no success..
