Hi,
If you have a non-wireless PC computer connected via one of the Airport Extreme LAN sockets do you have to install the Airport utility on that machine or does that only apply to wireless connections?

Also can someone recommend a hard drive that works with the Airport Extreme unit please?

Finally, is it possible to file share directly with shared folders on all other computers ( wireless & non-wireless) connected to the Airport Extreme unit or is it the case that you can only share on a network drive?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

You shouldn't need to install that app anywhere except the machine that will be configuring the AirPort.

Yeah, it's very possible, assuming all machines are set up for file sharing. :)
