I'm currently using a Belkin ADSL2+ Modem with High-Speed Mode Wireless-G Router for my internet connection. It's basically so my wife can use her (PC) laptop without plugging it into my Mac to surf.

I'm putting together my order for the new MP and some other kit, and I was wondering about Airport Extreme: for starters, I don't really need it, do I? It just does the same as the Belkin, right? Is it any better, or worse, than what I've got? If I did get one, would it affect how my wife's laptop connects? By which I mean, can a Windows laptop connect to the internet with Apple's Airport?

the benefits come from the fact that it is wireless N, when I bought one to take over from my netgear, i noticed that my wireless reception increased dramatically, and thats pretty much it (for me at least!)

Your wife's pc should be fine
