Recently Apple upgraded the Airport Extreme to 802.11n Draft 2. Does this mean that it is possible for Aple to upgrade the router to 802.11n whatever when it gets ratified?

When 802.11g was not ratified, was there an Airport Extreme? And if there was then did Apple upgrade the draft 802.11g to the ratified one via a firmware upgrade?

Will it be safe to buy an Airport Extreme and not worry about 802.11n getting ratified because Apple would upgrade the firmware?

My understanding is that any hardware that can do draft 2.0 will be able to do the final standard as well with a firmware upgrade. I thought I read that as an official statement somewhere, but can't dig up the quote, so it may not be certain, but it's exceedingly likely.
