Airport Extreme - Remote hard drive access

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum, but not new to the apple scene. I realise that you can remotely access the hard drive while connected to the WLAN. But, can you access the connected hard drive remotely over the internet using only the Airport Extreme Base Station?

I'm not sure of the specifics, but there have been people who've had success sharing their hard drives over the Internet with the AEBS.

The simplest solution is if you have a MobileMe account, but I've also read about others that have done this by enabling a "Share over WAN" setting in AirPort Utility.

Thanks skorpien.......if the hard drive is given an IP address then i can't see it being too much of an issue.

I also wondered if anyone has hosted websites using the Airport Extreme, if so how did it cope?
