I feel like an idiot for asking this, but does an extreme base station lose it's settings when the power gets disconnected?

I originally had my base station connected to my iMac with ethernet, but moved the iMac to another room and connected wirelessly. Earlier today my power went out briefly, and now I can't detect my base station. Do I need to reconnect it by cable and reset it's network settings, or should I still be able to see the network after a power failure?

Thanks.

it should hold for a while,

Check to see if you have a green light on the airport.

if not the first thing i would do is unplug the modem (i'm assuminig it's right next to the airport) and the express, leave them off for 5-10 seconds, and plug back in.

Chances are your modem probably just got unhappy with the power outage.
