I live in a very long, narrow, apt. I use two airport extremes to provide wifi throughout the apt.

One extreme is connected to the modem in my living room in the very front of the apt.

The 2nd extreme is located in the bedroom at the very back of the apt.

Wifi speeds at the front of the apt. are excellent - up to 15MB/sec depending on how Time Warner cable is operating.

Wifi speeds at the back of the apt. are slooow, even though my phone, computer, etc. shows a full connection to airport extreme. I'm lucky to get 512KB/sec in the back. Also, the wifi signal doesn't seem to extend very far outside past my bedroom. Occasionally, this extreme won't connect my devices to the internet at all, so I have to unplug it and then plug it back in.

Is it likely that the problem is simply that my airport extremes are located too far from one another and the back extreme isn't getting strong enough signal from my front extreme? If so, I'll just buy an airport express and put it in between the two units, but I thought I'd check here before spending any money.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.
