Hey all. Right now we've got an aging Belkin router and my dad was looking at buying either an AirPort Extreme or a new Time Capsule. We currently have a Canon PIXMA iP4000 printer which we have to unplug from the desktop computer to use on our MacBooks since the Gutenprint driver prints black as dark grey.

Anyway, my question: What printers are supported for use with the USB port on the AirPort Extreme or Time Capsule? Has anyone had any experience with a similiar printer? Also, when connecting a USB printer to the AirPort Extreme/Time Capsule, will it be using Bonjour? In other words, will I also be able to use Bonjour for Windows to print to the networked USB printer?

Thanks!

Any printer connected to the AEBSn or Time Capsule is driven by the driver on your computer, not on the router. I currently have an Epson 3000 A2 printer and an SPR800, one connected to the AEBSn via Ethernet and the other via USB. I can use both of them from either my G4 Cube or my Intel iMac, but each computer has to have a different driver installed. All the AEBSn does is to route the signal from the computer to the printer. And yes, it does use Bonjour.

Is this a function of only the Extreme BS? Because it sure doesn't work on the Express with a Kodak printer. It did with Epson, but not with Kodak. If I buy an Extreme, can I get back to wireless printing?
