airport extreme to another router

can i run airport extreme off another router?

right now my router is run off my parents PC.

But i want to have my wireless router upstares in my room so i can hook my printer and harddrive up to it. and then i can get my wireless capabilities on my MBP.

right now my MPB is hooked up to a non-wireless router thru ethernet

I want an airport extreme, but i dont want it to replace the current router we have now.(which is downstairs, and hooked up to a PC)

I need it to be hooked up to my epson r1800 and external HD

So, what i want to do, is hook an airport extreme up to our current router thru an ethernet cable.(not directly from the modem)
