Airport extreme - USB disk doesn't show up SHARED in Finder

Just purchased an airport extreme. Plugged my USB drive (previously formatted on a Windows machine) into the airport. While the disk does show up in the AirPort utility, it does not show up as SHARED in the finder. Is this most likely an NTFS format issue?

Yes. Format it as HFS+ in Disk Utility. AEBS will not share NTFS volumes.
