I just upgraded my router to a airport extreme (n). I have a WD elements 500gb (FAT32) drive connected to the AE via usb. My set up includes:

imac via wireless, can use internet & access ext. drive
emac via ethernet, can use internet & access ext. drive
laptop pc (XP) via wireless, can use internet & access ext drive
and
pc (vista) via ethernet, can access internet and see the usb hard drive. But when I try to open the shared hard drive, vista freezes up and I get a "not responding" error immediately.

What do I need to do to get the vista computer to access the drive?

Go into Air port utility, click manual setup then disks tab, file sharing make sure guests are able to read and write, and click share disks over ethernet Wan port, and see if that works

ALso im assuming you ran the setup disk that came with your AEBS on all computers? especially on windows computers this disk must be installed to view and use the drive

OK, I will try adding guest access read/write. Everything else was already done. I thought it was strange that my XP computer could access the drive, but not my VISTA computer
