This is what I would like to accomplish:
1. Store all of my music on my external HD connected to my AirPort Extreme (5th Gen).
2. Stream my entire iTunes library (and other media) to everyone in the house. I can read a couple threads (I'm sure) about how to direct iTunes to the new music location, but what I don't know is how to make my entire library accessible outside of my home network [safely]?
3. One thing I've toyed with is getting an SSD. The affordable drives are usually <128 GB, which is about half of the space required to store JUST my music! So I'm wondering, is there a way to setup my internal SSD/external USB drive connected to my AirPort Extreme such that only some of my albums are 'synced' to my computer's internal SSD, and the rest remain on the external?
If syncing is not possible, perhaps setting up two discrete iTunes libraries would be a good idea? One 'on the go' library (having select albums) and another 'at home' (which has all my music). How would I go about doing that?
