Airport Extreme vs Express

Hi,
in our house, the shape means that we will need two routers to cover the entire house.
Plan was to get an extreme and a repeating express base station. However would it just be better to get two express stations? (Since the printer will be shared through a desktop)

Is the extreme more powerful than the express? Or do they both put out a signal as far reaching as each other?

The Extreme has three very powerful antennas inside of it. The Express has one acceptable antenna inside. The Extremes are also have a much higher wireless throughput and have gigabit Ethernet.
