I rented a windows laptop. It is running windows XP pro. It has a wireless card that comes with it. I have been trying to connect to my airport extreme base station it sees it I enter my HEX key, and then it just sits there with the screen saying waiting for network. In about 2 minutes it then just stops. No errors nothing. The network is running 128-bit WEP.

I then created a network with 40-bit WEP on my computer and it connected to that fine. Any ideas? This card should be an able to connect to 128-bit WEP. I am going to try creating a network with 128 on my computer soon as I get time.

The card might not have the ability to decript 128-bit, or it couldn't tell that it was 128-bit.

I am almost certain that it can do 128-bit because underneath the box where you enter the key is says to enter a 10 digit hex key if it is 40-bit and a, I think 26 digit hex key if it is 128-bit.
