Quick question, if I were to get a usb hub to use with an airport extreme would I be able to use both an external hard drive for backup and a printer for wireless printing or will it only let me use one? Also, would I be able to do this with an airport express? From what I see it seems like the express doesn't support hard drives.

Just a side note before I start, no offense to you but your questions could have easily been answered with a search. There have been multiple threads specifically on these questions alone.

Yes, you can use a hub. It needs to be a powered hub. It will allow you to access both HDD and printer. And no, the Express cannot share HDDs, only printers. Also, using Time Machine with an HDD attached to the AEBS is not officially supported by Apple, but many users have reported that it does indeed work.
