I just picked up an Airport Extreme. I have 2 Western Digital My Book 500 MB Hard Drives. They have USB and Firewire connections.

Can I hook one hard drive into the Airport Extreme with the USB, then daisy chain the other hard drives together using the Firewire? It is my understanding that you cannot daisy chain with USB. Or is my better option to get a USB Hub?

Thank you in advance.

I don't believe that you can link the drives together with USB/Firewires and then over Airport extreme.

Are you hoping to use the drives for Time Machine? If so, check out using Time Machine and Airport Extreme.

Either way, a USB hub would probably solve your problems.

Can you use more than drive with AE?
Would the AE be able to communicate with USB HUB? Doubt it...
Research before investing cash in USB Hub.
