I have been using a 500gb WD My book USB drive to backup AVCHD video from my Sony Camcorder. I THINK IT IS FAT32 SETUP. Recently I moved over to a Macbook setup, that pushed me into buying an Airport Extreme (Previous Gen) Gigabit router.

I have plugged the USB drive in and i cannot see any of the files. I understand the Mac has a different way of formatting a HD.

I want to do two things. Setup a Time Machine for 2 macbooks and setup storage of ACVHD videos that can be seen by both macbooks and my PS3.

I need help determining what I need to do in order to complete the following.

1. Use a USB drive attached to the extreme for a Time Machine Backup (i under stand this is not really supported but can be completed using a certain reformat type)

2. Store my ACVHD movies on a NAS drive if it is not easy to use the USB drive (I do not need RAID i will backup on DVD as well).

3. STREAM the ACVHD to my Network connected PS3 (using the NAS or USB method)

I AM CONSIDERING BUYING THE WD MY BOOK WORLD EDITION 1TB.

HERE IS WHAT MY NETWORK CURRENTLY LOOKS LIKE
