Airport extreme wtf

I have a brand Airport extreme, one with the Dual band signals and i have been having issues with my internet speeds.

I have tested the internet with the router and i only get 5MB down i should be getting 20MB down at least. When i first got the extreme i got the proper speeds. I have removed the Extreme and just tested my internet speeds and they are in the proper speed of 20MB down.

I have reset the router many times and nothing helps.

I have just reconfigured the router and now the speeds are back to the proper amount.

WTF and why does it do this. Do i have to reconfigure this thing monthly to keep my speeds where they should be.

I love apple but this may not be worth it.

Any info will be helpful.
