Everyone here knows I'm not an Apple hater... but sometimes I'm a little surprised.
Airport.
I paid more for my Airport Extreme router than competing models because I thought Apple meant quality.
Now I've had this thing about 9 months now. Installation was easy as pie, compared to some others I've tried and I liked the fact it had a utility I could restart it from remotely etc. etc.
But there are some concerns. Basically, there are some major features missing and I don't know why. Apple could easily add them in to the firmware/software. I'm talking about:
*Being able to forward a range of ports. (e.g. 6881-6899 for bittorrent. currently I have to set each one individually which is a PITA!)
*Being able to block certain ports (firewall?) or limit bandwidth - one of my housemates started using limewire this week, and hasn't set it up right. We're not exactly on speaking terms (his decision), but I would like to be able to sort it out through the router rather than at his end.
*Being able to see who is connected to the network within the utility without having to download extra apps etc. - why can't there just be one good utility?
Any thoughts guys?
