How does the AirPort Extreme make it so that you can make your own wireless internet? So if I buy it, I just plug it in and I have internet? Confused....

That's what wireles routers do. Not just the Apple router of all of them. You need to do a bit more then "just plug it in". On the Apple web site, under "support" you can find the user manual. I always suggest downloading and reading the manual before spending $$ to see if the product is what you want.

2) install software
3) choose network passwords
4) you mac finds it, you enter the passwords
5) voila
