airport extreme

I'm going to be moving out of my parents house shortly, and am wondering, will the Airport Extreme ever get a built in modem? I don't think it would be worth buying an Airport Extreme, and an ASDL modem, and have heard that it may be getting updated soon...

I haven't heard about any upcoming updates for the Airport Extreme Base Station, so my guess is that it won't be coming soon.

Long answer
Some people use ADSL, some use cable, some satellite, some use broadband over powerlines. Too many options, so it is easier for Apple to not include any modem, and keep a lower price (which is still kinda expensive).

I was just thinking, cause I could buy a netgear modem router for less.. though it won't let me connect my printer and external hard drive...

They could easily make a ADSL and Cable modem router, as those are the main options that people go for, now a days.
