I'm having an issue with my Mac Mini. I installed a Dell 1500 pci-e wireless card to be able to connect to my Airport Extreme via Wireless N. I'm having connection drop issues.
It recognizes my N network fine and connects no problem fine. After 20-30 minutes, the connection drops. The Airport icon goes gray on the mini and it doesn't see any connections at all. The only way to connect again is to restart the machine. FYI, this happens on 10.5 and 10.6.
This Dell 1500 card should work no problem, it's the same chipset and people have installed without issue. It's not the router as no other machine is doing this. I noticed that when people installed the 1500 they said the vendor showed up as "Apple" under network utility. Mine shows as unknown. Any ideas? Did I get unlucky with a bad card?
Wondering if I should try the atheros ar5008. Any help would be much appreciated.
