Hello,

I haven´t used my Aiport connection for a few weeks and now when I try to connect to my sisters open WIFI-network I get the "unable to connect" message. Also, it doesn´t work when I try to connect after booting up the XP-installation either. It seems I´ve tried everything: zapped PRAM, removed coconut WiFi, refreshed the system configuration folder and com.apple.systemprefereces.plist and reapplied the combo-update (10.4.9).

The only things I haven´t tried is the hardware-test (because I haven´t got the cd here) or connected to any other networks. The router is a Netopia 3357 and the MBP is the 2.16Ghz. But I don´t believe it would work on any other networks, since there is no reason for it not to work here since my sisters laptop can connect easily.

Only thing I can think of is that my airport is broken, or maybe a loose wire.
Should I just hand over the problem to Apple, or try to fix this in some way?

Download iStumbler and see if your airport card is registering her network, or any others nearby. It's possible that an antenna connection popped loose (but only if the machine took a physical shock)... also check your keychain for multiple instances of her network ID (via Keychain Access), as well as in the Network Pref Pane.

thanks, but I detect her network fine. It is just that when I try to connect I get the "unable to connect to network NN". Also checked for multiple instances on on the keychain, but no.
