Ok, so I've searched and haven't found anything that works yet.
I have a white macbook 10.4.11 and can't get airport to connect to the internet. It is getting the self assigned ip address message and I'm lost. It is connected to the network though.
The settings are:
-Use DCHP
-IP Address: 169.254.242.221
-Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
-Router: Blank
I also have an iMac(10.5.7) that uses airport to connect and it works fine, as do the iPhones.
iMac settings are:
-Use DCHP
-IP Address: 192.168.1.3
-Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
-Router: 192.168.1.1
Also, the macbook connects to the internet using the ethernet cable. It's been like this for about a week now and I finally decided that I would try to reinstall the OS...didn't help. I've also tried 216.109.118.75(saw on another thread to try this) and I got nothing.
Any help or suggestions are welcome.
Thanks
