Can I stack a mini on top of an airport?

I believe apple made its mini and airport the same size so we can stack then together. but the temperature is noticeably higher on the mini.

I just put them together for one night, and the bottom of the mac mini is almost too hot to touch.
the smcFanControl however, didnt show a higher temp... so im confused...

any advise, please..?

Buy some of those plastic little sticky "feet". I put huge ones on my Mini and Airport Extreme, now there's plenty of breathing room between them, and off of the base as well. You can't see them underneath the devices either (they're see through plastic).

They're super cheap at places like Target.

I'd also probably put the extreme on the Mini after you add the little feet.
