Hi

I've got a situation and it is driving me insane. I'll try to explain and hope you can follow.

I have ADSL. My main socket is on the ground floor, my study is on second floor.

So, my ISP router is connected to the main socket. I have an Airport Express connected to this router by ethernet and is set to Create a 5Ghz Network, and is bridged. It is also plugged into the hifi for AirTunes.

In my study, I have an Airport Extreme set to Extend the Wireless Network emitting from the Express. Connected to it is my NAS and Xbox 1.

Now, everything is fine and works brilliantly. The ISP router has its wireless switched off and distributes IPs to the other devices.

The Express is its first point, and gives it 192.168.1.65
The Extreme is second point, it givies it 192.168.1.66
The NAS is third, with 192.168.1.67
etc etc.

Now, why do I have a problem then if everything works swimmingly?
Well, the ISP router is horrendous. It is massive and is prone to overheating under heavy traffic.

I have a Linksys WAG320N which I replaced it with awhile back but since getting the Airports I was just going to stick with the ISP router and sell it. Since then however I cannot live with the ISP router so have decided to return to the Linksys. All was well at first. I plugged it in, connected to its wireless, set it up, got some amazing speeds that I haven't seen in a long time. Switched off its wireless and plugged in the Express. Just like with the ISP router........no.

I thought it would be like the ISP router, it would distribute the IP addresses accordingly. Its settings show it is set up to distribute by DHCP a range from 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.200.

Yet, for reasons unknown, it is not doing this.

The Airport network is exactly the same as with the ISP router yet it just is not playing ball.

I connect the Express and it goes all haywire. The Linksys' own IP address changes from 192.168.1.1 to something like 96.124.8.25, the Express gets 164.3.256.2 and the Extreme gets 188.261.2.55. And I can no longer access its setup menu. I cant figure out for the life of me why this is happening? It should just distribute the range of IP's like the ISP one, but noooooooo it has to be difficult :(

I hope I explained properly
Does anyone have any ideas?

The Linksys is a much better modem than the ISP router. It is faster, smaller, looks better and doesnt heat up. I have set it up in the same way, it should just work?? :(

I'm tempted to just buy a Draytek Vigor ADSL modem, but if I can get this bloody Linksys router to work then I wont have to!

Thanks
