I've been using an Apple Airport as my router for years. I recently upgraded to the current model and it was working for about 2 weeks. I made a change to the unit remotely (through the WAN port) and restarted it. It never came back online. When I went home, I did a hard restart and nothing. I reset it and it seemed back to normal but on the final adjustment again (setting the appropriate IP Scheme- 172.16.1.x), it failed to come online again- even though the WAN port IS connected to my Cable Modem, it says that it is not and there are no green/yellow lights that indicate any kind of connectivity or network activity. So I try again, with another Airport!
Again, after the first restart of the Airport, the WAN port loses total connectivity and says that the cable is not plugged in (when it is, really!). Now I have 2 Airports that are completely useless to me. I tried recycling all items- cable modem, router and switch. Nothing.
I go out an buy a Netgear wireless router and everything works fine.
I'm going to go home today to see if I can apply factory defaults and try again but I did that yesterday three times with out any progress. Any ideas!?!?
