Airport not working properly

In the past week my macbook with 10.6.6 as only been able to connect via my airport ONLY WHEN MY CHARGER IS PLUGGED IN. If I unplug the charger it will only stay connected for less then a minute then I have to disconnect and connect and I will get another 30 seconds out of it. Then I'll switch back to plugging my charger in and poof no problem with the airport. Any suggestions?

What is the status of your battery? Use Coconut Battery and post back.

It could be your battery is shot and the computer is shutting things down to preserve battery life. Just a thought.

Battery is fairly new with only 55 cycles on it. Checked my prefs and seemed to be in order.

Was this problem present prior to 10.6.6? If not, try reinstalling the combo update.

ok I'll let ya know what happens downloading 10.6.6 update combo from apple's site

update combo didn't do a thing still acting exactly the same. I just can't understand why it is working perfectly fine with my charger plugged in.
