I am the new owner of a 15" PowerBook G4 and want to use it wirelessly around the house. I do not have DSL or a cable modem, but just your usual <56K dial-up. Actually, since getting the PowerBook, just having dial-up is fine by me, considering the speed of the processor. I don't plan on networking any Macs at my house: just going wireless with the one.

That said, I am trying to determine if I should get an Airport Extreme base or just find a cheap Graphite or Snow model. My PowerBook only has an Airport card (not Extreme), and, to my knowledge, can not be upgraded (unless there's something I don't know about).

Should I go ahead and future-proof myself with an Extreme base (w/modem) just in case they figure out a way to stick an Extreme card in my 15"? Or should I just go lowball? Right now, the $125 difference is significant.

Thanks for the input,
Craig
