Bought a refurbished macbook air (2.14, 128 SSD, running latest version of snow leopard) a couple of months ago, and it is a real dandy. Only gripe: it does not "remember" the network to which it is linked, so every time it goes to sleep, I must return to the airport menu, wait until it finds various networks, then clink on mine, then go to the internet.

When I go to Network preferences (or wahtever it is called), it shows that I am connected NOT through airport, but through Ethernet (?!). Much as I have tried, I cannot get the MBA to agree it is connected through airport, nor to remember what it is connected to.

Does this ring a bell and does anyone have a solution?

Many thanks for any help!

Have you taken a look at System Preferences > Network > AirPort > Advanced and seen if your network is in the list of the networks that shall be remembered?
