Purchased a 15" Powerbook running Tiger today. However after putting the machine to sleep (closed lid) the airport turns off. Now on my ibook it automatically picks up when I reopen it, on the PB however I ahve to click the airport signal icon and reselect the Network in order to connect.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why?

Only thing I can think of.
Open System preferences>Network> Airport: hit the configure button.
Under the Airport Tab, there should be a pull down that says "By Default; Join" and hit automatic. Or at least mess with that. Hopefully that should do it.
