Airport Printing?

I bought the lexmark x1150 printer/scaner/copier for my brother for x-mas who has the airport extreme base station. this printer is not listed on apples site as compatable with the base station. Is there any chance that this would work over airport or is the apple list firm.

Has anyone tried other printers not on the list to see if they work or not. Lexmarks web site does not actually help this, they only list business models that are compatible with airport extreme.

I hate to bring this back, it was such a great deal(only $50 bucks).

The printing part should work, the scanner part might not. There was a while back a topic that the usb port on the airport base station could be used for other things then only a (network)printer. Try to search for it in the archives!
