I installed Tiger on my 2001 500MHz white iBook and am generally
impressed with how good it is. However, it seems that Airport is not
working properly. It will randomly lose the signal for minutes
(occasionally hours), then regain it. I have not been able to find a
pattern or cause-and-effect relationship for why this might be. I've
tried restarting, turning Airport off and on, and unplugging and
replugging the card itself. Whether it works or not seems to be
completely independent of anything I do. It does this on both wireless
networks (college and home) I've tried. My college's computer hardware
shop switched my Airport card with a confirmed working card, and the
same problem was present, so I'm pretty sure it has to do with Tiger
and not the hardware. It worked fine under Panther. I've also gone
through Network Preferences and Locations with one of the IT guys, and
everything is set up correctly. We're stumped. Has anyone else
experienced this problem? Are there any fixes you know of? Or will I
just have to wait until Apple releases a fix?

DID U FIND A SOLUTION?!?!

Same thing happened for me on my iMac G4!
Was running Jaguar perfectly! Upgrade to 10.4 and no more Airport!
