I have a Mac that is running 10.6.8, 2.4GHz processor with 2GB of RAM. I'm paying for 12 Mbps internet speed. Per SPEEDTEST, I'm currently at 2.79 Mbps. My wife's macbook which is approximately 6 feet away from my mac is currently registering over 11 Mbps. I've compared our settings and I can't find any differences. My RSSi is at -75 and my transmit rate is at 5.

We are fairly new to this home and my setup is about 3 months old. When I initially setup our computers, my internet was clipping along as fast as hers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Change the radio channel to something different. i get this once in a while on mine or my wife's macbook and we sit 3 feet from each other.
