I've been having trouble connecting to a linksys router recently. So as suggested by someone, I deleted my com.apple.airport.preferences.plist and NOTHING else.

Since then, Airport takes a long time to connect or detect any networks on bootup. What used to be almost instant, now takes close to 2 or 3 minutes. OS X is up and running fine, but airport just sits there for a few minutes before seemingly "waking up".

Any ideas how I can fix this? I'm away on vacation so I do not have access to my install CD.

Was having the same trouble, and blaming it on my belkin-n. My cable ISP sent a guy over, and said it was the broadband modem we had been using for four or five years now.

Replaced it, and had no connection or dropouts since. Good luck!

Thanks but its definitely not the modem or router.

It is definitely the Mac OS X software.

The problem started a few days ago and now no matter where I am, on start up I always have this problem.

I've tried a few other things and I can't get this thing to work, short of doing a complete OS X reinstall.

Anyone have any ideas?
