Quick question for you. I searched and had no luck. Sorry if this is a repeat.

I'm getting an iMac and I don't want to have any problems with it so here's my question.

I'm currently using an Actiontec router(gateway) and have many problems connecting(staying connected) via wifi with my iPod touch. Would it benefit me and my apple products to get an Airport or Time Capsule product?

Thanks.

I hope you have an ActionTek router only because you have FiOS?

Assuming you have Verizon, disable the wireless and get another router; either way get a new router; the wireless on the ActionTek is nothing short of crappy.

It doesn't matter if you get a Apple router or not; I had a Linksys WRT600N; only reason I would recommend an Airport is it is very easy to configure; however if you want advanced firewalls, parental controls, web filtering, get a Linksys WRT600N (or 350N if the 600N is too expensive).
