My Macbook keeps losing it's wifi connection. Sometimes it's after a few minutes, sometimes it's after downloading a certain amount of data.

It's not my home network, because my iPhone and other computer scream on it. So I thought I might have a bunch of settings jumbled, and reinstalled OS X. This didn't solve it either.

I'm actually on my macbook posting right now, but it's taken me 4 re-starts to post this message...

Is this a hardware issue? If so, how the heck do I fix it? Is the wifi card part of the mobo in teh macbook?

Hi

I also have this problem although not as bad as you,ive rang apple support
a couple of times over this problem and they have walked me threw a process
that involves deleting some cache files. It has turned out only to be a temporary fix( which i should have wrote down).I asked about 10.5.2 and they said the issue should be resolved
in the update

someone posted the walk threw i got,on the forums so try a search

Hmmmm.... looked around and couldn't find anything.

This is really starting to get me upset.
The reason why I purchased a Mac was for it's smooth-operation.
This isn't so smooth...

Well it worked fine when I first bought the Macbook, and only within the past year has it malfunctioned.

I re-installed OS-X (clean install), so I've eliminated the possibility of it being a software issue.

I'm thinking it's hardware, considering the network hardware hasn't changed at all.

Is the wifi card integrated into the mobo, or is it a separate replaceable unit?

Sorry but that's all the advice i can give,i was running tiger for a while
i upgraded to leopard and BAM wifi dropouts

Maybe it is a hardware issue for you,try posting your question about
the card on a new post your'll prob get more response

Sounds like its a bug with Leopard :( I just read two more posts on this same issue when people went over to Leopard. That sucks. I'm running on 10.4.11 and have no problem with my router. I usually don't upgrade until I have no choice. I'm kind of glad I didn't go with Leopard yet.
