Hi,

I have a Macbook (white unibody) running Snow Leopard. I have a personal wireless network using an Airport Extreme and I have an external hard drive (WD) connected to the Airport Extreme. I use this hard drive for my Time Machine Back ups.

I just got back from a trip and tried to back up my time machine. I got the error that the back up disk is not available. I then tried to open the airport utilities. It tells me that "Airport Utilities is unable to find any Airport Wireless devices". I find this doubly strange because I have no problem connecting to the internet on this wireless network which supposedly does not exist.

Please help

I have had the same thing happen with my Time Capsule. I just unplug the TC, then reconnect and after it restarts everything works fine.
