AirPort utility - unable to find any AirPort wireless devices

When I am on my wireless network at home, I cannot print to my printer (via AirPort).

When I go to the router and connect with ethernet cable, the AirPort magically detects itself in seconds.

I have Windows 7 computers running bonjour and they can print just fine using AirPort.

I was able to print fine wirelessly to the AirPort but today it's not working.

Any thoughts? I did reboot

Are you still on the wireless network? Can you ping the router?

I can ping the router when I am on the wireless network.

solution

The secret is to go to the file menu, select configure other, and then key in 10.0.1.1 for the address, and your password.

This bypasses the apple brain f-rt and will open the configuration directly.

This will also work for airport expresses extending the network once you get the ip address. mine at the moment is 10.0.1.39

Spread the word folks, this problem is all over the internet with no solution.

Luckily I have not had this problem in a long time. I remember doing a software update which included HP drivers. Maybe this is what resolved this issue.
