Airport Utility unable to find Extreme or Express?

I have an Airport Extreme N and a Airport Express N that I reset by pushing a needle into the hole on them and now neither one show up in the Airport Utility. I tried accessing them both from two separate Macs, though nothing shows up and a button displays to Rescan.

Why are they not showing up?

Can you connect to the Extreme or Express wifi network? Sometimes AirPort utility does not show the devices immediately after a reset and you need to manually connect to their respective wifi networks and set then up one at a time.

The default password is public after a reset. If you were using something different you will need to change it to this to get back into it. Once logged in, set it up for your preferences.

Thanks for the responses.

I'm not currently using either for internet, I have a separate Cisco router. Neither of the Airports show up at all.
