I'm on the internet, and then the AirPort application opens up and it showed some unusual network, and I'm not sure why.

Attached is a screenshot of the network. I have no idea what "Sharmila Subhash" is. There was also a "base" option followed by a code previously.

Why would this happen? And is my WiFi network/MBP in danger of becoming hacked or anything?

Thanks

UPDATE: It no longer shows up.

You were probably somewhere where that Airport was broadcasting and hadn't been set up yet.

I've never set AirPort up, and have never really used it. Obviously, I don't know how it works, but I don't know what that's there. It still currently shows that. I'm currently on my home WiFi network.

Is this someone else's network, and can it in any way view/hack my MBP?

Yes - it's someone else's network. The only way it can view yours is if you sign into it. Important Safety Tip - don't sign into it.
