Airport won't reconnect after sleeping...

If I put the PB to sleep, when I open it back up, there are signal bars, but it won't get on the internet. If I have a weak wireless signal and it goes in and out, it won't come back after I lose it once. I have to restart the system to get it back. What the heck is the deal?

Powerbook G4 1.5ghz; Mac OS X (10.3.8); 2GB Ram
