Hi all. Bought 4 AirTags. I always lose my wallet (in the house), and I wanted one for this purpose. However, while I'm not overweight, I can't imagine sitting on these things would be good. Any thoughts if they'll be able to withstand it?

AirTag - for a back pocket wallet?

It would probably be better to put the wallet in the front pocket, or get a wallet specifically designed to carry a tag.
Yeah, I wish Apple would have brought out a card like Tile has for this purpose. Hopefully companies like Belkin are already working on a solution (as Apple's allowing 3rd parties to make devices for the Find My network).

It’s definitely not good. I’m am not overweight as well, but 3 times now the battery lid has popped off when ive sat down.
Until I can find a thin hard case I just used some duct tape. Not the most elegant solution, but hey no one sees it. Now I just worry that the plastic will crack in time with stress.
I guess I could change the routine I’ve used since a kid and front pocket it. One advantage my tile slim had.

Tile has better solutions overall, I mean that is what their whole business model is about. Airtags, of course, work better in the Apple ecosystem but I never had a real issue wit Tile's app.
I have the AirTags now, previously the Tile (batteries are kaput now) and overall and the Airtags are fine, 7/10. Not sure Apple will ever devote the time to expanding this line of products. I just feel jipped that I NEED to buy accessories for most applications.
Not knocking you at all, but this looks unbelievably stupid. Hope Apple comes out with an airtag that’s like the Tile Slim.

Personally, I don’t use a wallet other than the MagSafe one on the back of my phone and there’s no way it can hold an AirTag!
You can print this by yourself with files from Thingiverse. Different shapes available.
I expect that either third party accessories or wallets compatible with Find My will be out soon enough.
Not a solution to your question, but hope it helps in another way... Years ago i had back pain and went to see several specialists. Found out that having my wallet in my back pocket and sitting on it was putting my hips and therefore lower spine out of alignment. I have never kept a wallet in my back pocket since and its taken a few years to repair the damage this caused.
