Will definitely turn my Blue Tooth off as it might drain the battery if those things will try to constantly discover or connect to my phone.

Bluetooth from my tiles, Apple Watch, and AirPods still leave me with plenty of battery at the end of the day. And I assure you, I’m a heavier iPhone user and one who is often out of reception.

"if you lose an item that has an AirTag on it, you'll get a notification on your iPhone" REALLY? Without my having to do anything?

Will it work with items that are misplaced around the house and that can be located using my iPad or desktop Mac?

A Tile on my keys can be used to locate my phone.

What will AirTags cost?

There's no word on what Apple's AirTags will cost at this point in time, but similar products from companies like Tile are priced in the range of $25 to $35 for a single Bluetooth tracker.

Tile Bluetooth tracking tags

Apple's AirTags could be priced similarly.

🤣 Really? Priced similarly? Try adding another $20 to $25 US to the $35.

I have a hard time believing they'll be shaped like Mentos as shown in the mock-up picture. Pretty hard to stick that shape to anything because the contact point is pretty small. Seems like a disk would be a better choice for adhesion.

I was thinking, "All we need is some Diet Coke and - WHOOSH!"

😂 Sure they will be.

Expect at least a 79.95 per tag price point.

$49 to replace the battery. Or just $19 if you already paid $19 for AppleCare+

The Mentos version is intended for internal use.

Not at all. I am SO over the drama of the big events with the 'keynote' type reveals. Just update it and let us get the parts we want (sitting out 2019 completely) and move on. I'm gonna puke if I hear Schiller, Cook and the cameo parade of unknown, yet diverse Apple employees hawking "incredible" and "amazing" products that are significantly less than.
Get out your Barf Bag Pro cuz they ”can’t wait” to show them to you.

I love the concept of these, and I think they’re going to be ridiculously popular. But speaking for myself, I’m not one to misplace things, I always tend to have track mentally somewhere where all my belongings are. Now, we all lose things at some time, maybe it’s just because I’m just organized/structured that I don’t feel this product would be for me, but I definitely _could_ make the recommendation for several people I know that would love something like this.

Same here, but... I´ll be putting one on my bike for sure! If it gets stolen, odds are there will be people with iphones nearby so that I can locate it. The problem with every other "tile" is that you need to have thier app installed to locate things for others, with this one all you need is another iphone within reach.

I need to buy these for my husband who is always misplacing things.
Please release soon!

Most commenting don't have any experience with any tracker, I got some "Trackr" bluetooth devices about 2 years ago, while I used them a lot at first, they took a CR2036 battery that was replaceable (one reason I got instead of the non-replaceable Tile kind). They go through batteries about every 3 months, which after you pay about $49 for 3 devices, you get to pay constantly for batteries. No thanks, unless the apple ones are rechargable, it doesn't make fiscal sense for being irresponsible. I hope the apple ones are better, but I am not expecting much.

We've got 8 Tiles around the house, most the newer ones with replaceable batteries. The latest purchase (on Amazon) they were $42 for four, $10.50 each. If the Apple ones are $25 to $35 each that would be 2-3 times the price. And the Tiles have improved greatly over the years. I can't imagine the Apple ones to be better.

i looking for colored pencils right now that my wife sorted out yesterday and stored somewhere. My kid needs them for homework. If only I had had some Airtags yesterday.

but then they would probably tell me they are in her car or something. :)

I have tiles and the new one is terrible. One is on my keychain and it is constantly going off. I also lost my keys and it couldn’t track it because no one nearby had a tile with software installed. Apple’s could be more effective because it will utilize the Apple ecosystem. So when I lost my keys? They were at a friend’s house and they had apple phones. With the Apple tag, it would have been found and I would have had peace of mind for a couple days earlier.
