Apple needs to add some sort of Family Sharing ASAP. I just had to deal with an AirTag beeping because it was not on my AppleID.

Scenario:
- Family member out of town for a week, leaves Keys w/ AirTag at home.
- My vehicle isn't working, so I grab a family member's keys.
- AirTags proceed to beep once moved.
- AirTags beep every few minutes while I am trying to work with clients.

This is a huge oversight on Apple's part. In families, we share keys and other things such as remotes or airpods.

there are MANY posts here saying the exact same thing.
posting here does nothing to fix the issue.

picked iPhone because there is no AirTag section, and they're listed under iPhone on the website

and/or a polite email to tcook@apple.com
he might not personally see it, but the person who does read it will either forward to him, or to the department that might actually be able to fix it.

Since you mentioned family sharing I presume you have an iPhone? In this case you should have received an ‘AirTag Following You’ alert. From there you would have been able to pause the alert for a day, or forever if it’s a shared item.

So yes, Apple did think of this

This is one case where Apple’s “It just Works” mantra has failed. Based on the number of posts about how AirTags function, it’s clear Apple needs to do a better job educating.
