I'm running airtunes from my laptop (wireless G) about no more then 12 feet away, theres a little lag when I change songs, at least a couple of seconds, If I get a wireless N- card will it make the in between noise go away, or at least become less noticeable??

Airtunes works by encoding the audio stream, sending it to the airport express where it is being decoded and played to your stereo. This encoding / decoding part takes times time which causes a few seconds lag. This means the lag is there regardless of the type of device you are using and this -unfortunately- cannot be resolved....

The express buffers a bit of audio to help avoid dropouts which is why there is a delay, if you let the songs change on their own, it doesn't have the delay, as it will start to buffer the next song while the last one is finishing.

the network speeds that are used by the express are pretty minimal. and easily run over G.
